Coronavirus Impact on New Hope

We have created this link on our website to keep you informed on how the Coronavirus, social distancing and efforts to mitigate this pandemic are impacting our family at New Hope.

The following is an e-mail that Pastor Ron sent to the congregation March 17th highlighting the following:

  • Cancelling our church service on Sunday, March 22nd based upon the state & national recommendations of no greater than 10 people meeting.
  • Pastor Ron will post his message from the Lord this week on the website early Sunday morning so you and your family can listen to it. Simply click on SERMONS on the top row of the HOME page. You can either listen on your device or download the message.
  • We will be evaluating our process on a week to week basis.

More information will be shared as the coming weeks progress.

Greetings Everyone,

The board of New Hope has discussed our current situation regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Out of an abundance of caution, and in response to our state and national gathering restrictions, we have decided to cancel Sunday service for this Sunday, March 22nd. We honor, pray for and humbly submit to the authorities God has placed in or country and state. While saddened that we will not be able to gather physically, we believe the health and safety of our church and communities to be a top priority.

We have made this decision not based on fear but based on the facts and a strong faith in what God can do.  This is a time to seek and trust God deeper than ever before.  I believe He will protect His church and prepare His church to meet the needs of friends and neighbors as so many are or will be struggling with this unprecedented change in our life styles.

While we will not be holding our normal Sunday service, this does not mean we will be taking a break from church!  The church has never been about a building but about what the people of God can do when they are submitted to Him.  You are the church.  Please pray for those affected by the Coronavirus and allow the Lord to use you to share His light and love to your families and neighbors. Pray that this situation will cause hearts to open and respond to the Gospel.

Scripture does command us to not forsake the assembly of saints.  It has been and will continue to be God's plan for His people.  To that end I will prepare a sermon for this Sunday and it will be posted online by Sunday morning For the foreseeable future I encourage you to gather together as a family and listen to the messages God has for us.  Then, collectively spend some time in prayer, drawing close to God.

If you are in need for any reason or feel like you need to talk, do not hesitate to contact me. You can reach me at the church at 440-543-4652.  If I am not there your call will role to my cell.

Clearly these are shaky times.  We must remember that our God can never be shaken!

Hebrews 12:28 (NIV) “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.”

I will send more information later in this week as to how you will be able to listen to Sunday’s message.

Be Blessed,

Pastor Ron
